Founded by Rob Hammersley and Michelle Shewchuk, Black Market Wine Co. is nestled in the hills of Kaleden, overlooking Skaha Lake. What began as a shared passion for rare, under-the-radar bottles has evolved into a boutique winery known for crafting authentic, terroir-driven wines—meticulously produced, unconstrained by tradition, and deeply rooted in the South Okanagan’s unique landscape.

Wine Blending Seminar
August 21 | 4-7pm
Limited Seats Remaining
Have you got what it takes to make the perfect blend?
Join Owner | Winemaker Rob Hammersley as he takes you on a journey to blend your own version of a new red wine in our Collusion Series, made from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre.
We’ll start with a deconstructed tasting of barrel samples of each of the varietals, along with a discussion on the characteristics of each grape, the vineyards we sourced them from, and how they age in different types of barrels. Learn both the art and science of blending, and how to balance flavour, aroma and texture. Then you’ll be put to work…doing a series of trial blends to find your perfect version of the wine. Then we’ll fill up a whole bottle, cork it, wax it, sign it, and have it ready for you to pick up the next day.
Enjoy a welcome glass of our Ancestral Sparkling Cinsault rosé. After working up an appetite making the perfect blend, join us on the patio for canapés and charcuterie. Wine will be available for purchase by the glass or bottle.
Only 14 seats available for this intimate and interactive session. Last year’s blending seminars both sold out quickly, so don’t delay!
Tickets: $125 per person

Rumour Mill – Live!
Wednesday, July 9th | 6-9pm

Join us for an intimate back-yard concert as we welcome back the indie-folk duo, Rumour Mill, along with special guest Keith Sinclair!
Rumour Mill is a west-coast Canadian band headed by multi-instrumentalists & songwriters, Aline Deanna and Anna Katarina, currently residing in beautiful British Columbia.
Their first full-length album, What She Said (October 2023) is inspired by the likes of Stevie Nicks, Brandi Carlile and First Aid Kit. It is a collection of beautiful, groovy and memorable songs that feature a lush and groovy topography of violin, keys, guitar and mandolin, led by a narrative of iconic harmonies, produced by Murray Pulver (Crash Test Dummies, The Bros. Landreth) and supported by FACTOR’s Juried Sound Recording grant and Creative BC.
With melancholic melodies, soulful harmonies and lyrics that weave the listener through an exploration of timeless themes, these ladies will sweep you off your feet and leave you wanting more!
Tickets $25 per person
Wine will be available for purchase by the glass or bottle.
